Want to Host a Baby Basics Resource Drive? It's easy!

Step 1: Identify who you want to ask ​

• Are you at a school/community center? Perhaps a scout group or religious group? 

• Are you celebrating a birthday, an anniversary, or a baby shower for someone?

• Our wonderful patrons host resource drives for many reasons - the only requirement is a desire to help our littlest neighbors. 

  • Q: Should I tell LIFE Houston about my drive? Only if you want to! We love to share information, pictures, and support with our drive hosts. But if you are more of a DIY person, have at it!

 

Step 2: Share our Amazon Registry:

• Most varieties of formula, including generic versions are available at all major grocery and retail chains. The generic brand changes at each store, but they are all produced by the same manufacturer.  

• You can never go wrong with diapers and wipes.

  • Q: Can I donate opened diapers? Yes! We repackage diapers so we can give an appropriate amount for the infant's age. 

  • Q: Do you take gently-used clothes? Not at this time.

Step 3: Collect donations and say thank you

• Some people like to collect donations in person and bring a huge carful of donations to our office. 

• Others prefer to have donations mailed or dropped off individually, which can be great for maintaining a safe distance. 

• Or maybe your company wants a representative to visit the office and share information about how this donation can help. ​

General Questions/Comments:

• Q: Is this tax-exempt? Yes! We are registered as a 501(c)(3) with the IRS, all donations are exempt. 

• Q: Can I have a tax receipt? Absolutely! All donations receive a tax receipt; however, we only state the value for monetary contributions. The donor is responsible for valuing a donated item, save your receipts.
